There’s no better way to celebrate Veterans Day than by getting a new music video from country music star Josh Turner.
That’s right, folks! Multi-platinum-selling country star Josh Turner has officially released his music video for “Soldier’s Gift”. the song is the lead single from Turner’s first-ever Christmas album, King Size Manger. And he released it right on Veterans Day. It premiered exclusively on Turner’s official Facebook page.
“This song shares a message that I think we need in our world today,” Turner wrote on Facebook. “‘Soldier’s Gift’ was one of the coolest shoots I’ve ever been a part of.”
What makes the official video so cool is that it actually features real-life veterans from the Wounded Warrior Project.
“We worked closely with Wounded Warrior Project,” Turner revealed. “It was important to me that we didn’t cast actors for the main roles. Both the director and I wanted this video to be authentic.”
“I made new friends that day in David, Samy, Yolanda, and Bill, and I took with me an even greater appreciation for all those that serve our country.”
Turner then posted a short clip from the music video to his official Twitter account.
“The official music video for ‘Soldier’s Gift’ is out now!” Turner captioned his post on Twitter. “I was honored to have real life heroes featured in the video and telling this story. Thank you to our veterans for your service!”
Country music fans of course were excited about Josh Turner’s new video. But they were equally loving the deeper message behind the song and the fact that he premiered it on Veterans Day.
“From an Army daughter, I appreciate your support for our vets,” one fan admitted. “Happy Veterans Day, Josh.”
“Beautiful song and heart felt video,” another person said.
Story Behind New Josh Turner Single ‘Soldier’s Gift’
Josh Turner’s new song “Soldier’s Gift” really is the perfect theme song for Veterans Day. There’s no question that Turner knew what he was doing when he decided to wait until now to release it.
The music video for “Soldier’s Gift” tells the coming home story of a soldier played by real-life National Guard Specialist, Stephanie Betancourt. She is coming home from deployment during the holidays and she believes that she is coming home to an empty house. However, little does she know that her fellow soldiers, played by real-life wounded warriors, will be there waiting to celebrate the holidays with her.
Meanwhile, Josh Turner will be embarking on his very first Christmas Tour. Dubbed Holiday & The Hits, the tour will make stops in 18 different cities. Some of those include performances in Panama City Beach, Memphis, Las Vegas, Wisconsin Dells, Nashville, and Knoxville.
