June Carter Cash’s Daughter Carlene Posts Sweet Birthday Tribute to Her Mom With Fun ‘Fashion’ Pic

Country singer and songwriter Carlene Carter took to Instagram to share a sweet birthday tribute to her mother, June Carter Cash, with a fun fashion pic.

The post features Carlene wearing a bikini top with a Mickey and Minnie Mouse skirt while she dons classic sunglasses. “I started my solo career in 1978 when ‘Carlene Carter’ my 1st album was released. Since then, I’ve had quite an adventure as an entertainer and songwriter! It’s my Mommas birthday today so we’re celebrating on @watchmandolin with our 2nd show which is a small collection of all these years.”

Carter also shares, “My flair for interesting clothes was come by naturally and I inherited the fun aspects of dressing from her @JuneCarterCash.”

As previously reported, June Carter Cash won a total of five Grammys during her singing career. She began her life as a singer in 1943 when she went on the road with her well-known musician family. June created her own career before touring with music legend, Johnny Cash, who she ended up marrying. Cash died May 15, 2003, of complications from heart surgery.

Carlene Carter Announces Livestream Performances with Her Band The Lucky Ones 

According to Music Row, digital platform Mandolin announced it would present two livestream performances from Carlene Carter with her band The Lucky Ones on June 17th and June 24th. The performances will have a lineup of special guests, which includes Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, The War and Treaty, Elizabeth Cook, Carlene’s daughter Tiffany Anastasia Lowe, and cousin Lorrie Carter Bennett. Tickets for both shows are under A Meeting in the Air

While sharing more details about the livestream performances, Carlene Carter talks about what the audience will expect. “A Meeting in the Air is named after an old Carter Family song and with so many of us interacting with each other during the pandemic, we really have been ‘meeting in the air,” Carlene explains. “I wanted the first show to be ‘Carter-esque,’ because those are my roots.I have guests who really helped jumpstart my career in a lot of ways, like Rodney and Emmylou.”

Carlene Carter further explains that the second show is a set of her songs, including some she hasn’t played in more than forty years. She also plans to tell some stories she never shares on stage before. “I got to use all of the creative energy I had pent up that I wasn’t able to apply to anything else this past year,” she says. “The thing I wanted to most of all is to bring joy to the world and show people the joy I feel when I play this music.”

Carter has notably been releasing music for more than four decades. Since 1978, she has recorded 12 albums and has released more than 20 singles. She also has had three number three-peaking hits on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Charts.
