On Saturday, officials announced that Democratic candidate Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election, and country music star Kacey Musgraves tweeted a thank you of sorts to one of the battleground states.

The country singer knew the importance of the swing states during this election. In fact, as Pennsylvania continued to tally their votes, the state shifted from red to blue on Friday. Musgraves – like the rest of the nation – took notice, as the state put Biden over the top. Pennsylvania’s electoral votes, added to Biden’s total, exceeded the 270 needed to win the presidency.

In a veiled thank you to the state, the singer amusingly said that she’ll only play live shows in Pennsylvania now.

“Only touring Pennsylvania from now on,” Musgraves joked while adding a smirking face emoji.

Musgraves Has Criticized the Trump Administration in the Past

The country singer has been critical of the Trump administration in the past. In August, Musgraves told her fans not to vote for Trump, especially if they have a loved one that is part of the LGBTQ+ community.

“To each their own but know what your vote means,” Musgraves added to a pro-LGBTQ+ tweet.

The country star made it known that she supported Biden and his vice president running mate Kamala Harris. On Saturday, Musgraves celebrated their victory over Trump in multiple tweets and retweets.

Additionally, she highlighted what Harris’ vice presidency means for the history books. She is not only the first female vice president in American history. But, she is also the first Black and Asian vice president to hold the position. Furthermore, Musgraves retweeted a photo from Hank Green who pointed out that Harris’ husband will be “the first Second Man of the United States of America.”

Finally, the musician also took a jab at Trump on Saturday. The same morning, Trump tweeted that he “WON THIS ELECTION, BY A LOT!”

Yet, only hours later the 2020 presidential election was announced as a victory for Biden and Harris. Musgraves jumped at the opportunity to have a laugh at Trump’s expense.

“Well this tweet hasn’t aged well,” Musgraves wrote. “WOMP WOMP.”
