Quarantine brought some people impossibly closer together. This is what happened with country artist Kelsea Ballerini and her husband Morgan Evans. The two celebrated three years of marriage on their anniversary on Wednesday.
Ballerini said in a recent Instagram post that “In our third year of marriage we were quarantined…and we got better at Mario Kart, communicating, making dinner, and being best friends.”
Fans were quick to celebrate with the couple as well. One fan said “Happy Anniversary! Here’s to 50 more.”
Morgan Evans is a fellow singer-songwriter. He most recently released versions of his single “Diamonds.” He has also just released his own version of “All I Want for Christmas is You.”
The couple met when they co-hosted Australia’s Country Music Channel Awards back in 2016. They then partied together at an after-party later that night, instantly hitting it off.
Ballerini and Evans Wedding
Then, a year later, Evans was proposing to Ballerini. They shared an intimate wedding at a beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico in 2017. The couple recited personal vows and got so choked up reading them had to cut them short.
According to People, Evans started to recite the first song he wrote for her, “Dance with Me.”
“Kelsea’s vows were, as you would expect, poetic, sweet — like, mindblowingly good. our officiant was like, ‘Hey, Morgan, beat that!’ … I said mine, and I was going to finish with a few lines of the first song I wrote for her [‘Dance with Me’]. I got halfway through them, and she started to lose it, then I started to lose it — so I ended up having to cut it a little bit short!” Evans said to People.
The two live together in Nashville and Evans signed with Warner Music Nashville. Since then he has been releasing hit love songs inspired by his wife that are also reaching the Billboards. His song “Kiss Somebody” was No.3 on the U.S. Country Airplay Billboard chart.
Ballerini is also creating a huge name for herself in country music. She released her third album “Kelsea.” Her debut of “Love Me Like You Mean It” was also record-breaking in that it was the first debut to hit the top of the charts since Carrie Underwood. She continues to receive constant nominations.
The two are quite the Nashville power couple.
