For anyone swearing off alcohol this January, Kelsea Ballerini offers some motivation in her new remix of “Hole In The Bottle.”
In recent years, the dry January trend solidified its spot as a New Year’s resolution fad. The concept behind dry January is simple – you avoid booze for a month. Seems easy. That is until you get the hankering for some wine and chocolate. Luckily, Ballerini offered fans some motivation with her playful remix of her song, “Hole In The Bottle.” During the song, she sings that because her January is dry, she’s drinking water and pretending that it’s wine. However, “The first of February, I won’t even wait ’til five to put a hole in the bottle of wine.” Ballerini sings the tune before releasing a loud sigh and then laughing.
Ballerini shared a video of herself performing the song on TikTok. Along with the video, she wrote, “for anyone missing happy hour. #dryjanuary #holeinthebottle”
Kelsea Ballerini Wants To ‘Connect With People’ Via Social Media
Although some musicians are simply accepting the fact that they can’t connect with fans the way they used to due to the pandemic, Ballerini disagrees. In fact, she’s taking this time to learn new ways to stay connected with fans. Ballerini says that using social media and learning what her fans want to hear is important to her.
“It’s the only way that I can connect with people now, so yeah, it’s really forced me to go there and show what I’m doing,” said Ballerini during an interview. “… the people that have shown up to shows for six years, I know them by name. To be able to really stick with people like that is nice. I also think that as a fan, I get invested in the artist, and that’s why I love the music. I know that a lot of people that listen to my music are the same way, where like they listen to what I put out because I’m putting it out,” said Ballerini.
Ballerini released two new albums during the pandemic last year. Her third studio album, Kelsea, features songs including, “Homecoming Queen?” “Other girl” and “Hole In The Bottle.” Ballerini rerecorded “Hole In The Bottle,” for her fourth studio album, Ballerini. The song even features country music icon, Shania Twain.
