Tomorrow Kelsea Ballerini and Shania Twain are teaming up for the ultimate duo by releasing a new version of “Hole In The Bottle.”

Last night at the CMAs Ballerini performed her song “Hole In The Bottle” with a little Twain influence.

Ballerini’s black and white outfit topped off with a top hat during her performance was reminiscent of Twain’s “Man! I Feel Like A Woman” video.

She also shouted “Let’s go girls!” at the end of her performance. And there’s no more iconic line that screams Shania Twain than that phrase.

A Confirmed Ballerini-Twain Collaboration

These easter eggs were soon confirmed later on Wednesday night when she tweeted confirming that it was “time to spill the wine …”

Ballerini performed her song at the CMAs last night, but had no nominations this year. While she didn’t receive any nominations this 2020 CMA Awards, Ballerini did put out an album earlier this year.

“Putting out an album and working as hard as I can, even through a pandemic, I just felt disappointed to not be a part of a community that I work really hard to stand up for and be a face of and make music that I really do hope represents the genre well … I just felt disappointed, and that’s okay. That’ll make me make a better record next time,” Ballerini told PEOPLE in an interview.

Twain’s Musical Influence

Shania Twain’s “Let’s Go! The Las Vegas Residency” tour is happening in December.

Twain is famous for creating the bestselling album ever made by a woman in 2002. She then disappeared from the stage for almost 15 years. She had contracted Lyme disease and had to have an operation to reconstruct her vocal box.

“This was a woman who knew what she wanted – men, action, dancing, control. As she sang on Man! I Feel Like a Woman!, the best thing about being a woman was the prerogative to have a little fun. Her finger-wagging, top-hat-wearing vamp would not take any nonsense from the cloned pretty boys playing guitar on the song’s video,” wrote The Guardian.

Twain is famous for being one of the first country-pop crossover artists, before Taylor Swift’s time. Ballerini, as a current country-pop singer, is a symbol of what artists like Twain have done to reinvent the country genre.
