Kenny Rogers’ Georgia Mansion Was Fit For a King: Take a Tour of the Immaculate Property

Kenny Rogers’ home is one for the history books!

Rogers formerly owned and helped create Beaver Dam Farms. The sprawling estate is located just outside of Athens, Georgia and sits on 973 acres. The home features 7 bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms with sixteen total rooms However, this goes beyond the house and features world class amenities and has become a full resort.

The house was built in 1990 and is 12,370 square feet. Variety reported that Rogers purchased the estate in 2012 for $1.5 million. It was most recently appraised at $10,250,000. Rogers put his personal touches on the majority of the home and designed and built it himself.

The main house is home to a home movie theater, exercise gym, along with numerous suites. You’ll find two guesthouses with one four-bedroom and four bathrooms while the other features two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Outside, you’ll find two clay tennis courts, and a golf course. Guests will come across numerous freshwater lakes, four guest bungalows, a caretaker home, meeting space, and more. No estate is complete without two pools and jacuzzi. Guests will also be able to use the lakeside pier, billiards room, barbeque and entertainment areas.

If you’re looking for a more country escape, this is also home to a barn. It has a 70,000 square foot indoor equestrian facility complete with horse boarding equipment like stalls, paddocks, pastures, etc. You can also roam the gardens or fish in their lakes.

In 2003, Kenny Rogers sold the estate to Weston Adams. At first, he just used it as his private residence. Then he transformed it into a full resort complete with rentals and a spa. Most of the furnishings were passed on by Rogers himself.

“I have so many fond memories at Beaver Dam Farms,” Rogers said. “I still dream about playing golf on its course two to three times a week.”

Kenny Rogers decided to sell the property since he spent the majority of his time with his family in Texas at the time.

“I was raised in the projects in Houston, Texas, and I always had this dream of doing something spectacular,” he added. “I remember when I was young, I would walk through the wealthy part of town on my way to school and saw the automated sprinklers and thought, ‘one day I’m going to have those.’ So, when I built the golf course, I would go out and sit on the golf cart and watch the sprinklers.”

Originally, Rogers built just a 3-hole golf course on his then-property. As an avid golfer, he would golf at other prestigious golf courses around the world while on tour. The other courses inspired him to design the current 18-hole championship golf course.

The course length is 5,438 to 6,300 yards with a par of 72. It has a course rating from the Georgia State Gold Association of 70.4. Additionally, it has a slope rating of 139. There is even a clubhouse just off of No. 18.

Rogers previously owned a home in Beverly Hills, called The Knoll. He sold this in the ’80s for a whopping $20 million. In 2015, he sold his Bel-Air estate for a mind-blowing $46 million.
