Music group Lady A shares their emotional struggles while recording the Grammy-nominated performance for the song, ‘Ocean.’

Today the Grammy Awards have announced who the nominees are for different categories within each genre of music. Within the Country music section, Lady A is up against Brothers Osborne, Dan + Shay & Justin Beiber, Little Big Town, and Old Dominion for Best Country Duo/ Group Performance.

Lady A Responds to Nomination

The group announced the good news on their Twitter account this afternoon.

“Wow! We are absolutely blown away hearing the news on “Ocean” being nominated for Best Country Duo/Group Performance. When we went in to cut this song, we knew it was incredibly powerful and it only felt right that Hillary took the lead which took the song to a whole new level.”

Next, Lady A takes the time to thank everyone involved in the difficult process.

“There were times during the recording of the music video we could barely make it through. To Tofer, Abe and Sarah – thank you for trusting us with this song you so beautifully wrote. Thank you to every single person that has listened to this song and made it part of their story.”

They added in another comment thanking the Grammys and the other talented artists also in their category.

“Thank you so much to the @RecordingAcad for this honor and shout out to all the other great nominees up for the award!”

Lady A released the deluxe version of Ocean on November 20 for the one-year anniversary of the original, however, this version will include six more songs. This makes the total number of songs on the new album 19. Also on Ocean, is Thomas Rhett, who is featured in the song “Heroes,” which reflects on legendary singers from all genres of music that have died.
