Country artist Lainey Wilson, who broke into the industry in 2016, is celebrating a huge career milestone today. Her newest single, Things a Man Oughta Know, hit number one on the country Billboards today. The feat marks her first time topping the charts.

And, of course, the songstress celebrated with her biggest supporters on social media—with a bottle of bubbly.

“We just found out that Things a Man Oughta Know is number one on country radio,” she said with a smile. “Number one on country radio,” she emphasized again. “So your girl’s gonna celebrate. Thank ya’ll so much, and iheart, for your support. For real, I am overwhelmed. Here is to the beginning.”

In the video, Lainey Wilson pops the cork off a bottle of champagne and clinks her glass with the camera.

The Caught On Fire singer made her Nashville debut when she released her first album, Tougher. She has since released one more album, Sayin’ What I’m Thinkin’, which holds her number one single. And leading the Country Billboards isn’t the only thing she’s celebrating. Things a Man Oughta Know was also nominated for CMT’s Breakthrough Video of the Year.

How Lainey Wilson’s Song Ended Up On ‘Yellowstone’

Lainey Wilson is making it big in country music. She had a CMT Breakthrough Music Video of the Year nomination this year, and she celebrated her first chart-topping single today. But one of her first career successes was being showcased on Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone

Wilson recently met with The Bobby Bones Show to talk about her exploding stardom, and she told the guys about how her song ended up on the hit CBS drama. She also said that her voice may end up in more of Sheridan’s projects.

“So ‘Yellowstone’ had reached out to WME[Wilson’s talent agency] and they were looking for some music back in 2018, and they sent over a self-titled EP of mine and he chose one of the songs off there, “she said. It was during…remember when the bull was breaking into the bar? That scene?”

Taylor Sheridan liked Wilson’s single so much that he asked her to fly to Vegas and sing at an event.

“From there he [Taylor Sheridan] invited me to come out to Vegas and play at this like horse reigning competition that he was doing,” she continued. “And I got to kinda hang out with him and talk and we bonded over horses because I grew up riding too and he was like, ‘Hey here’s my number if you feel like you got anything for the show send it my way.’”
