It’s been a big few weeks for Jason Aldean. After scoring his 25th No. 1 single and announcing his Back in the Saddle tour, he just released a huge duet with Carrie Underwood.

The song “If I Didn’t Love You,” an ode to still being in love with an ex, is a big, powerhouse song that Aldean has been teasing for a few days. But he would only tease who would be joining him on the track.

“Who do y’all think is singing on this one with me?” Aldean wrote in the caption of an Instagram post and asking them to guess who it was in the comments. Many thought it would be Kelly Clarkson since the two have worked together before on 2010’s “Don’t You Wanna Stay.”

Well, the mystery is over. The new mystery is when will Jason Aldean release his tenth studio album, which followed the aptly titled 9 that he released in 2019.

Aldean said “If I Didn’t Love You” was a late addition to the new album.

“We were pretty close to finishing up this album, but this song came in and we knew we had to record it,” Aldean said in a news release. “I went ahead and put my vocals down while we asked Carrie in the meantime. Luckily she loved the song and it was kind of like a rocket from there. She did her thing like only Carrie can…and I don’t know how, but she made it sound even better than what we expected. It’s a really special song to start this album.”

Jason Aldean Scores 25th No. 1 Hit

Jason Aldean landed his 25th Billboard No. 1 Hit last week with his song “Blame It On You.”

Aldean said his life has exceeded his dreams in a press release about the hit song.

“25 No. one songs is bigger than I could have dreamed while I was driving that delivery truck back in Macon, GA,” Aldean said. “This one is for the fans, Country Radio, and my team for taking this crazy ride with us.”

What makes the hit even more special is the fact that it was written by two of Aldean’s band members. Kurt Allison and bassist Tully Kennedy co-wrote the hit along with John Edwards and Brian Gene White.

Jason Aldean tweeted how happy he was that part of his band was part of this massive achievement.

“Thank you for taking #BlameItOnYOu” to #1 this week,” Aldean states in the tweet. He also proclaims that “this one” feels especially sweet because it was written by two guys that have been with him for more than twenty years.”

Allison and Kennedy will be joining Aldean when he launches his Back in the Saddle tour on Aug. 5 in Virginia Beach, Va. You can see all of Jason Aldean’s tour dates on his website.

This is the first time Aldean and his band have been on the road in more than a year, he told Entertainment Tonight. He said it’s been especially hard considering he’s used to performing 200 dates a year.

“So, it just feels good to be back with the band and crew,” he said. “Get a chance to get onstage, [and] see some fans.”
