Both Tennesse and Loretta Lynn hold a special place in the hearts of our favorite country stars. So when Lynn’s TN town suffered unimaginable loss and damage due to flooding last month, her friends jumped at the opportunity to help. Major country stars are coming together to perform at the Hometown Rising concert in a few days. The show will benefit everyone affected by the late August storms. And Loretta announced today that one more artist is joining the lineup.
“I’m thrilled that my friend @janson_chris will be joining us on Monday evening!” Lynn wrote on Instagram. “Make sure you set a reminder to tune in and donate to help my hometown if you can by texting TNFLOODRELIEF to 44321.”

Chris Janson is the new addition to the star-studded charity event. Janson broke into the scene after he dropped his first single, ‘Til A Woman Comes Along, in 2010. He since signed a record deal with Warner Bros. and has released three albums throughout his career. His first record, Buy Me A Boat, even included a duet with Tim McGraw. So, we’d say the Good Vibes singer got a solid start to his career.
Nashville’s Greatest Stars Will Come Together at Loretta Lynn’s ‘Hometown Rising’
The Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN, and the nearby town of Waverly were the two areas most affected by floods that rocked Middle Tennessee on August 21st. Record-breaking rain caused surging water to kill 21 people and destroy homes and businesses.
Loretta Lynn felt a personal loss when the water raced through her ranch and took the life of her longtime friend and ranch foreman, Wayne Spears. But despite her mourning, her entire family quickly gathered volunteers and donations while raising awareness for their community. They took to social media and asked people to help clean up debris and rebuild the farming towns.
The Hometown Rising concert is among her many efforts to help her neighbors. The concert proceeds will benefit the Humphreys County residents who lost their homes, business, and loved ones.
The most well-known artists in country music will be headlining at the Grand Ole Opry this Monday (September 13th). Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Luke Bryan, and Luke Combs were the first to jump at the opportunity to help their fellow Tennesseans. And once the word got out, more artists signed on. Breland, Little Big Town, Reba McEntire, Brittney Spencer, and Keith Urban will also be joining Loretta’s sold-out relief effort.
