Loretta Lynn Releases Heartbreaking Video Tribute to Ranch Foreman After His Death in Tennessee Flooding

At the end of August, floodwaters tore through Tennessee. In the disaster, Loretta Lynn lost a friend and her longtime ranch foreman, Wayne Spears. In the days following, Lynn and her family put together a proper burial and paid great tribute to their friend. Floods are incredibly unpredictable and in a split second, things can change fast.

Quickly, Loretta Lynn had put together a fundraiser event. Her Hometown Rising relief concert attracted big names. During the benefit, a lot of money was raised and artists came out to help the efforts. It was a big success. However, Wayne Spears cannot be replaced. She posted a great video on her Instagram in remembrance of her friend.

During the video, Loretta’s granddaughter, Tayla broke down the relationship between the family and Spears. The hectic nature of the day was evident. In the video, there are wild images and videos of the floods. It is clear how one could get caught up in the water without realizing what was happening.

While the video plays, it is clear the heartbreak and pain that is felt. After hearing word that Spears was out among the water, Tayla didn’t know what to do. So, they looked. Then they looked some more. Once night fell, they knew it was bad news.

Loretta Lynn finishes the video holding a picture of him. She finished the video by calling him, “our cowboy,” and then, “Wayne Spears, we all love you, honey.” A fitting tribute indeed.

Garth Brooks Suports Loretta Lynn’s Efforts

One of the many stars that came out in support of Loretta Lynn and her benefit concert was Garth Brooks. Brooks and his wife Trisha Yearwood are two of the biggest stars in country music and to support this benefit was great to see. Hopefully, their words and encouragement led to donations and support from the public. There are people hurting and still looking to rebuild after the devastation.

They took to Twitter to send out the text code as well as the live stream link of the event. It was a heartfelt message that surely meant a lot to Loretta and her family.

With such strong support, the show was a success. It is unclear how much was raised, but there were such great acts there was likely a bunch of relief funds raised. Listen to these other names outside of Garth Brooks and it makes a lot of sense.

Luke Combs, Little Big Town, Keith Urban, all rocked the stage in Nashville. It was wonderful to see so many stars come together around this event and Loretta Lynn. Hopefully, Wayne Spears’ family and friends can find peace in the coming days.
