Loretta Lynn wishes Betty White a Happy Birthday and we can’t even handle the queen energy!
Country music legend, Lynn, wished White a Happy Birthday via Twitter.
Along with a photo of White posing in a pair of bedazzled sunglasses, Loretta writes, “Betty White is an American icon! I’ve always loved her. 99 and doing fine—an Inspiration to all us young girl! Thank you, Betty. I hope your birthday was fantastic and that this is your best year yet! We all adore you.”
Loretta Lynn’s First Daughter Was Named Betty
We’re not saying that Lynn named her first daughter after Betty White, but we could understand why someone would!
Nevertheless, Lynn named her firstborn, Betty Sue Lynn. Sadly, Betty Sue passed away in 2013 at the age of 64. She passed after struggling with complications of emphysema. Tragically, Betty Sue’s passing wasn’t the first time Loretta has lost a child. Her second child, Jack, died at the age of 34. He was trying to cross a river near their home when he fell off his horse, hit his head, and drowned.
Losing a child is a loss unmatched by most pain in the world. However, Lynn has continued to persevere.
Just like she says with her #wedontretire, Lynn hasn’t given up her love for music despite struggles, loss, pain, or age. In fact, at 88 years old, Lynn is releasing a brand-new album, Still Woman Enough. The 13-song album is a celebration of women in country music. And the album features guest vocals from Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood, Margo Price and Tanya Tucker.
One of our favorite Loretta Lynn quotes is “You’ve got to continue to grow. Otherwise, you’re just like last night’s cornbread – stale and dry.” It’s clear that, from the first time she left the Appalachians to now as she releases her 50th studio album, Loretta Lynn will never allow her career to stale.
