Luke Bryan doesn’t remember all of his lyrics.

On April 28, he spoke with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show‘s Wednesday episode.

“I’ve done a couple of Zoom concerts, and I’m, like, forgetting the words to my songs quite a bit,” Bryan told the late night host. “I’m gonna have to sit in my music room and go back and listen to [songs]. Like, I’m gonna have to do a little extra prep because I’m a little out of practice on a lot of this stuff.”

“I keep thinking about that emotion that I’m gonna have when the lights come on and I come out on stage for the first time and I finally am back out there,” Luke Bryan continued. He shared that he enjoys life on the road and misses it.

“I’ve kind of always been a guy that loves to be on the road and loves to be out there with the fans and interacting,” he admitted. Luke Bryan keeps thinking about the moment when he will finally hit the stage and what it will be like.

Bryan rescheduled his Proud to Be Right Here Tour for later this summer.

Luke Bryan’s Past Year

This past year, Luke Bryan has completed a handful of accomplishments. He has been judging American Idol amid the pandemic. Earlier this month he tested positive for COVID-19 and was able to return to the singing competition show to judge shortly after.

Bryan told media outlets that he didn’t have a long list of symptoms. He said a few of those days were “quite challenging” but he didn’t have any severe reactions.

“There were times where Caroline [his wife] was nursing me back to health,” he added. Bryan said that prayer and the support from his friends and family got him through it.

After his recovery, he virtually accepted the Entertainer of the Year honor at the 2021 ACM Awards. During his acceptance speech, he got a bit emotional and thanked his team, family, and fans.

“Oh my God, this – y’all got me,” he began, before taking a moment to gather his thoughts. He was genuinely stunned and humbled by the honor.

“We’ve missed being on the road with everybody that makes me an entertainer,” he said. He listed off members of his crew and band as what makes touring work. “What a challenging year,” he continued. “But to all the fans and everybody, we’ll be back on the road doing what we love. And what an amazing honor. I love you guys.”
