Maren Morris shows us there’s nothing quite like a saucy duet with a wife and her husband. It just feels more authentic.

Morris and Ryan Hurd released their sexy music video to “Chasing After You,” Friday. It’s their third collaboration, but first duet. Give it a listen and join us on the other side for some fun details.

Maren Morris Enjoyed a Terrific 2020. And Now This.

Maren Morris is one of the hottest singers in music, regardless of genre. She picked up three CMA trophies in November, winning best female artist, best song and best single for Bones.

Last October, she released a new song, “Better Than We Found It.” It represented her first work since she gave birth to son Hayes last March. Part of the song includes a letter she wrote to her son. It addresses much of the unrest that’s hit the country.

Morris wrote to her son:

“I don’t know how it got like this, but I will acknowledge my part in it. I have to do better, I will do better, for you. Our education must grow alongside our empathy. Any time I get overwhelmed at the mess we’ve created, I try to see the world through your eyes. Negativity, fear and bitterness haven’t yet touched you. You are kind and curious. I want to rekindle that in me.”

And now, country music has this terrific duet from Morris and her husband Ryan Hurd. She sings to him “wish I could quit you, but this feels so good.”

“We’ve written a lot of songs together and for each other,” Ryan Hurd said Friday in an interview with CBS This Morning. “But this is kind of the first time we’ve stepped out in this way.

“Maren is really good,” Hurd said. “That was it. I mean, I was always just in awe with the way she could sing and the way that she could write, like, just different songs than anybody else. So that, I mean, that’s intimidating and special at the same time.”

Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd met as song writers in Nashville back in 2013. That’s when the two co-wrote “Last Turn Home” a song released by superstar Tim McGraw in 2014. Maybe McGraw had a hand in getting them together.

“It’s like, ‘Hey, Tim McGraw recorded this song, we should probably keep writing together,” Morris said.

Eventually, a work-only relationship blossomed into a romance. They began dating in December 2015 and were married three years later. Maren Morris said the song reminds her of when she started dating her future husband.

“It really reminded me of Ryan and my story, getting together, when we first met,” Morris said.

The two wrote “All My Favorite People” from Morris’ “Girl” album. And for “Hero” Morris’ debut album, they collaborated on “I Wish I Was.”

Now, they’re giving country music fans this delicious duet.
