by Keeli Parkey

With Thanksgiving just a day away, Martina McBride has shared one of her favorite dishes. As an added bonus, the country singer says the dish is a healthy option for those who plan to donate blood.

“For any of you that plan to donate blood, made sure you eat a meal rich in iron before you go! Sauteed spinach is one of my favorite Thanksgiving sides & it’s full of it,” McBride posted on her Twitter account. She then encourages followers to share their favorite Thanksgiving recipes.

Some favorite dishes shared by McBride’s followers so far include Sweet Potato Casserole, Green Bean Casserole, Dressing and Ice Cream Pie.

Earlier this month, Martina McBride shared a tasty dessert recipe on her website. The Fresh Apple Cake features unpeeled Granny Smith apples to make a delicious dessert. The singer also has two cookbooks to her name. “Around the Table: Recipes and Inspiration for Gatherings Throughout the Year” includes a variety of recipes.

“Martina’s Kitchen Mix: My Recipe Playlist for Real Life Cookbook” includes more than 100 recipes. “Martina encourages cooking “outside the lines” and shows you how to make cooking fun with creative “ad-lib” tips for recipe riffs you might consider,” the singer’s website states.

Both cookbooks, including autographed editions, are available online.

Martina McBride Expresses Frustration with Negativity

Although she shared a favorite recipe on social media, McBride recently used Twitter to express her frustration with the media. She told her followers that she felt overwhelmed by “all of the negative things” she was seeing. So, on Oct. 23, she shared a post that made her feel “love.”

McBride shared a music video of “Where Is The Love” by The Black Eyed Peas and Jennifer Hudson. The video featured a speech by Presidential Candidate Joe Biden and clips of Civil Rights leader Ella Baker. Additionally, the video also features clips taken from national protests, white supremacist groups with torches, Adolf Hitler, and President Donald Trump.
