Miranda Lambert is gearing up to release a brand new record, The Marfa Tapes.

All About The New Album From Miranda Lambert

Her ninth studio record will feature Jon Randall and Jack Ingram. The trio recorded the project in Marfa, Texas. They described the sound as raw. “You can hear the wind blowing, the cows mooing,” Lambert shared. “We wanted you to feel like you were right there with us, sitting around the campfire, escaping the world, disappearing into the music.”

Their first single, “In His Arms,” debuts at Midnight on Friday (March 5). Their full album will drop on May 7 and fans can pre-order the album, vinyl and pre-save it via streaming services.

So what is so special about Marfa? For Lambert, she goes to the small town whenever she needs an escape.

She explained that they recharged, “get inspired by its beauty,” and write songs together. “‘Tin Man’ was the 1st we shared with you. ‘Tequila Does,’ the 2nd. In between, we’ve written 13 more. It’s about time to share them w/ y’all.”

Teaser After Teaser

The trio has been teasing fans with social media posts leading up to this big announcement. Miranda Lambert shared photos of the musicians just hanging out with a guitar in hand. Obviously, this sparked speculation that they were working on new music. Fans took to social media to share their theories and hopes for new music from Lambert.

Miranda Lambert poked fun at the speculation by sharing a slideshow of speculative fan tweets. The TikTok quickly went viral and excited fans even more for the big surprise that was surely worth the wait.

Big Plans

An album isn’t the only major announcement that Miranda Lambert has recently made. She will be opening up her very own bar in Nashville. She will be the first female country musician with a bar on Nashville’s iconic Broadway. Miranda Lambert will be partnering with TC Restaurant Group for the new establishment. The location will be at 308 Broadway. The 17,400-square-foot building is currently being renovated interiorly.

On April 22, 23, and 24 she is also set to perform socially-distanced concerts at Billy Bob’s in Texas to celebrate the venue’s anniversary. These will be the first full shows Lambert has played since the COVID-19 pandemic began last year.
