The “Blame My Roots” country music festival will kick off July 16 at the Valleyview Campgrounds in Belmont, Ohio. It runs for two days and features a camping option for concertgoers who want to stay over.

Country musicians Miranda Lambert and Lee Brice will headline the event. Other performers include Neal McCoy, Jo Dee Messina, Adam Dolelac and Walker Montgomery.

Lambert Promotes the Festival

On Thursday, Lambert promoted the festival on her Twitter account. The tweet quickly drew excited replies from her fans.

Siblings Chris and Nina Dutton founded the festival after Live Nation canceled “Jamboree in the Hills,” the Times Leader reported. “Jamboree in the Hills” was another county music festival that may have been done in by a conflict over alcoholic beverages on site.

Tickets go on sale starting today with a “pre-sale” option on the festival’s website. On Friday, “early bird” tickets go on sale at noon.

2020 ‘Blame My Roots’ Cancelled

Organizers canceled the 2020 “Blame My Roots” festival due to the pandemic. The founders of the festival blamed its cancellation on the rapidly changing restrictions to prevent the spread of the virus, WTRF reported.

“At this point we do not know what restrictions will be in place or if events such as ours will be permitted to continue this summer,” Chris Dutton said in a statement this May. “The health and safety of staff, family, fans, and artists is paramount; we would never do anything to jeopardize that.”

Meanwhile, the Duttons gave full refunds to all ticket buyers. And they encouraged would-be concertgoers to reach out to them on social media.

“Pandemics like this come once in a century, but the third weekend in July comes every year,” Nina Dutton said. “We are booking for next year and our team is excited to create another incredible experience at Blame My Roots Fest. We can’t wait for 2021!”
