Miranda Lambert Says ‘It’s Okay’ to Get Married Twice, Dishes on Relationship with Brendan McLoughlin

Miranda Lambert has been down the aisle twice but says that okay as she celebrates her two-year wedding anniversary with Brendan McLoughlin.

Miranda Lambert first married country star Blake Shelton in 2011, but in 2015, the two amicably split. Both have since moved on, with Shelton getting engaged to Gwen Stefani and Lambert exchanging “I do’s” with Brendan McLoughlin.

“It’s Okay to Do it Twice.”

In a recent interview on The Bobby Bones Show, the country artist spills on how her relationship is going with her hubby, starting by saying that the second time around, she is much happier.

Lambert also touches on how her marriage did while enduring quarantine and the pandemic.

“Well, it’s okay to do it twice. I learned that because the second time has been awesome,” Miranda Lambert giggles. “You know, we survived a pandemic. You got engaged during a pandemic, so like, if you can survive that– if you can survive 2020 together, being a new couple, you’re kinda golden from here on out.”

Bobby Bones continues, saying that his relationship only got stronger with all the time they spent together and asks Miranda Lambert if she can relate. She said it allowed her and McLoughlin to travel while getting to know one another.

“It made us really strong. You know, we got married, and then we were on the road pretty much on tour. Lots going on, flying back and forth to New York, and then with shut down, it was like we could really chill and get to know each other a little better. You know what I mean? We really did great, I mean, every day wasn’t sunshine and rainbows, of course, but I’m thankful for that downtime. I really am. We bought the airstream, and we sort of got to travel together around without work being a part of it.”

Miranda Lambert and McLoughlin’s Relationship

Miranda Lambert met 29-year-old Brendan McLoughlin while she was in New York for a show. Her bandmates blindly set her up with McLoughlin, an NYPD officer working security at Lambert’s performance.

“My husband was doing security there for the show. My girlfriends, the Annies, saw him and knew I might be ready to hang out with someone,” she told the New York Times. “They invited him to our show behind my back.”

The rest is history from there, and they two are still blissfully married as far as the media knows, and we just hope they stay that way. We do still love a good, bad*ss breakup song every once in a while, though, Miranda.
