From being a New York City police officer to posing along a red carpet, Miranda Lambert’s husband Brendan McLoughlin has had a lot of major changes in his life recently.
The two got married at the beginning of 2019. Since then, he has experienced what it’s like to attend high-profile events like the Academy of Country Music Awards.
Miranda Lambert and Brendan McLoughlin Attend Award Shows
While it may seem like quite the transition, Miranda Lambert said that McLoughlin thrives even more than she does at red carpet events.
“He gives me new joy about it because he’s kind of bright-eyed and excited and ready to have fun. It reminds me, like, how dang lucky are we? This is really fun … Brendan was holding the jackets and the guitar case today, poor thing. I’m like, ‘Hey, thanks for coming to the ACMs, can you make me another drink? He loves it, actually. He’s super glam, like, he’s one of those ‘Dapper Dan’ type dudes,” Lambert said to People during the ACM Awards.
Unlike most events, McLoughlin had to help as more of an assistant. Due to COVID-19 precautions, there are significantly smaller crews and staff. Miranda Lambert couldn’t bring her normal crew that helps her on the red carpet in order to lessen the number of people at the event.
McLoughlin said he doesn’t mind lending a hand and Lambert called him a “trouper” and a “great date.” However, his love for glam took a massive hit with the lack of a real red carpet.
Lambert and McLoughlin feel closer than ever. Lambert has spoken out on just how strong and healthy their relationship is.
“Well, it’s okay to do it twice. I learned that because the second time has been awesome. You know, we survived a pandemic. You got engaged during a pandemic, so like, if you can survive that– if you can survive 2020 together, being a new couple, you’re kinda golden from here on out,” Lambert said on “The Bobby Bones Show.”
Lambert at the 2021 ACM Awards
While it may have been a different kind of ACM award ceremony, Lambert still helped put on quite the show.
Lambert and Elle King started the night out with their duet, “Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home).” The two are longtime friends and said they were happy to “have a lot of fun together” after the year apart. From there, she also stepped in as a fill-in for Chris Stapleton’s performance of his song “Maggie’s Song.” Morgane Stapleton was unable to attend.
Miranda Lambert also performed the acoustic song, “In His Arms” alongside Jack Ingram and Jon Randall. She was up for several awards but did not walk away with any.
Maren Morris was named the Female Artist of the Year and Thomas Rhett was the Male Artist of the Year. Her song “Bluebird” was nominated for both Single of the Year and Song of the Year. However, Carly Pearce and Lee Brice, and Maren Morris, respectively, won those two awards.
