With multiple performances last night, Miranda Lambert stunned at the ACMs. In a thread of tweets thanking friends, family, and the people who made last night possible, she took the time to thank her husband, Brendan McLoughlin. In the photo with her husband, Lambert goes “full cowgirl” with a triple denim look.
This isn’t the first time the two have hit the red carpet together. They first made a red carpet appearance two years ago at the 2019 ACM awards, just two months after their surprise wedding.
In the thread, Lambert also gives a shoutout to Morgane Stapleton. Lambert filled in for Morgane Stapleton during a performance of Chris Stapleton’s “Maggies Song,” a song about the Stapleton’s dog who passed away. Morgane missed the performance due to a “prior doula commitment.”
Needless to say, people were a bit confused on the “prior doula commitment” comment, but Chris Stapleton clarified, “My sister-in-law’s in labor right now, so my wife was on baby watch — and for once, not her own baby! — but it’s been an interesting night tonight, so lots to celebrate.”
Last night, Lambert was nominated for Single of the Year (Bluebird), Video of the Year (Bluebird), Song of the Year (Bluebird), and female artist of the year. She didn’t take home any of the awards this time, but her performances speak to her talent more than any trophy ever could.
Miranda Lambert and Brendan McLoughlin
Miranda Lambert married her husband in 2019. After her divorce from singer Blake Shelton, Lambert met McLoughlin on the set of Good Morning America. When they met, McLoughlin was a police officer with the NYPD.
The marriage ceremony between Lambert and McLoughlin came as a surprise to fans. They dated a little over two months before marrying in secret. McLoughlin retired from the police force shortly after they married and has since been seen working as her security.
Like with every couple, their relationship took an unexpected turn when COVID-19 hit. The two quarantined together. “If newlyweds can survive a pandemic, then I think we’re good, you know? ” Lambert joked in an interview New York’s Country 94.7 last July, “It’s a good test.”
Mcloughlin met Lambert when he was on security detail at Good Morning America. Lambert was there with her band “The Pistol Annies.” Members of “The Pistol Annies” invited McLoughlin backstage, feeling the two may hit it off. They were clearly correct, and now he’s supporting her as she delivers performance after fantastic performance.
