Morgan Wallen Asks Fans to Guess SNL Set List: Here Are the Songs We Expect to Hear

by Charles Craighill

Tonight, Morgan Wallen will perform on the historic Saturday Night Live stage for the host, Jason Bateman. The young country music star will play a two-song set throughout the night, broken up by SNL sketches. Yesterday on Twitter, Wallen asked his fans to guess which songs they think he will play. The fans certainly put forward some solid guesses, but given Wallen’s repertoire, they could be anything.

The overwhelming fan favorite in the comment section was Morgan Wallen’s most recent single, “Somebody’s Problem,” however, fans requested several other hits as well. “More than my Hometown” came in second on Twitter comment voting.

Here’s What We Think Morgan Wallen Will Play

Realistically, the fans might have called it. Typically, artists will play one of their big hits and one of their latest songs for promotional purposes. That would imply “Somebody’s Problem” should make an appearance, per fans’ request. The other song, however, is really up in the air.

There is certainly a good argument for “More than my Hometown,” as that currently ranks as his third most popular song on Spotify. With that said, his song “7 Summers” has gained a lot of popularity in 2020. In fact, Times Magazine selected the song as one of the 10 best songs of 2020. Four songs from the United States made the list. “WAP” by Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B, “Good News,” by Mac Miller, and “Long Road Home” by Oneohtrix Point Never also made the list at 2, 5, and 10, respectively. Morgan Wallen’s “7 Summers” came in fittingly at number 7.

The other question with Morgan Wallen’s performance is how he will perform them. He has been known to pull off a mean acoustic performance of “7 Summers,” but most SNL musical guests put on quite a show for their two-song set. No matter what songs Morgan Wallen chooses, fans will definitely be pleased.
