Morgan Wallen opens up about the price and downsides to fame in his newest song “Livin the Dream.” The singer previously described it as one of the most personal songs he ever recorded.

Co-written by Wallen, the song features on Wallen’s upcoming album “Dangerous” and recently released as a single. In a TikTok video, Wallen described the song as “one of, if not the most personal song on my new record.”

The singer went on to describe how fame does not always equal happiness. He wrote, “I know I’m super blessed and usually damn happy. But not always. This came from the ‘not always’ part. I bet some of y’all can relate.”

Morgan Wallen Had an Up and Down Year

Professionally, 2020 was a mixed bag for the young country singer. Wallen had his highs and lows and his fair share of controversies. For instance, police officers arrested Wallen in May for public intoxication and disorderly conduct. He was involved in an altercation at a Nashville bar.

The singer later apologized for how he behaved, admitting he had trouble remembering the night. But in July, a judge threw out Wallen’s case and declined to prosecute. Over the summer, Wallen became a father, welcoming his son Indigo Wilder to the world. He shares the child with ex-fiancé Katie Smith.

Rather than end 2020 on a quiet note, Wallen found himself involved in more controversy in October. “Saturday Night Live” dropped him from a scheduled performance after he failed to follow social distancing guidelines. Video and images showed Wallen ignoring social distancing and mask mandates at the University of Alabama party. The state issued the protocols to try to lower COVID-19 numbers.

Wallen admitted the moment made him depressed, and he had to take some time to himself to process it. Almost a month later, Wallen won the CMA New Artist of the Year Award for his work. He’s currently promoting his upcoming album.
