Rising country music star Morgan Wallen is the music industry’s talk of the town since putting out his latest offering.
His second studio album is “Dangerous” and has caused quite a stir among fans of the country music genre. The album features 30 songs and is sure to have a hit or two within its contents. The album hit the airwaves just yesterday is already garnering a lot of attention for the 27-year-old singer from East Tennessee.
One particular song that has gotten the attention of country faithful is called “865.” The number is an area code for East Tennessee, where Morgan Wallen calls home. The area includes the city of Knoxville and several surrounding counties such as Knox, Anderson, Blount, Loudon, Roane, and Sevier. Wallen is from a small community in Hancock County known as Sneedville.
“This bottle tastes like 865-409-1021,” the lyric goes.
Calling the number leads one to “U.S. Telepunch” and asks callers to enter a four-digit code to reach the desired destination. U.S. TelePunch offers businesses a way to connect their remote employees to time clocks, company benefit details and more via phone, according to its online site. Wallen does not seem to have a personal connection to the number.
In a recent interview, Wallen says seeing the numbers “865” reminds him of back home in East Tennessee.
Morgan Wallen Says Area Code Reminds Him of Home
“865 is the area code that I use, and if I hear those three digits, it takes me back to place or time,” he says via Whiskey Riff. “It just makes me think of home. I thought it was a unique in the way that they used it.”
The song itself its about the act of “drunk dialing” an ex-lover — something some of us are all too familiar with. In the lyrics, Wallen details elevating false courage with the assistance of Jack Daniels Whiskey while trying to forget an old flame. Unfortunately, as he describes in the song, whiskey can sometime take the opposite of the desired affect.
