Country music singer-songwriter Morgan Wallen received a gift of country music history from none other than the legendary Luke Combs. The “Broadway Girls” singer opened up about the unexpected gift in discussion with comedian Druski on Behind the Vest with Druski.

Morgan Cole Wallen is an American country music singer and songwriter. He competed in the sixth season of The Voice, originally as a member of Usher’s team but later as a member of Adam Levine’s team.

Apparently, Wallen received the cherished gift at the end of Combs’ headlining Beer Never Broke My Heart Tour. Wallen served as direct support on the tour in 2019.

“How many guitars do you own,” asked co-host Crytal Mais during their chat on Behind the Vest with Druski chat. “…and which one is your favorite.”

“I don’t have that many guitars,” Wallen replied with a laugh. “I probably got about ten, something like that.”

The East Tennessee native continued sharing that there was a one-string guitar that holds a special place in his heart, symboling a career milestone.

“I got an old Gibson that’s really nice. One of my buddies, Luke Combs, actually brought it for me at the end of our tour that we did in 2019,” shared Wallen.

The Gibson instrument wasn’t just a brand-new guitar. It was actually used in the recording of Brooks & Dunn’s “Believe.” The popular song by Brooks & Dunn is the second single off their album, Hillbilly Deluxe.

“‘Believe’ by Brooks & Dunn, the guitar parts on that song were recorded on this guitar. That I have now,” said Wallen. “There’s still a note in the guitar case that kind of lets you know the history behind the guitar. And that it was played in those parts and stuff like that. So, that’s probably one of my favorite ones.”

As a result of hearing this story, Mais became curious as to the price tag for the rare item.

“That’s definitely expensive,” Mais started. “Yeah, it’s definitely up there,” Wallen replied. “I didn’t even ask him how much he paid for it.”

After going into detail about the surprise gift from Luke Combs, Wallen made sure to pay homage to his fellow country musician. “He’s a good guy, no doubt,” said Wallen.

Although Morgan Wallen didn’t come out and say if he will be using the guitar on his upcoming headlining tour, it’s definitely possible the famed instrument will show up. Wallen’s upcoming Dangerous Tour boasts an impressive 54+ dates, many of which are already sold out.
