Country music singer-songwriter Morgan Wallen can’t wait to go out and perform live again. Which of his songs is he most ready to sing?
During a visit to “The Bobby Bones Show,” Wallen hemmed and hawed a little when asked which song he’d want to perform.
“I don’t know,” Wallen said. “That’s a good question.”
Wallen just released “Dangerous: The Double Album” on Jan. 8, which is jam-packed with 20-plus tunes. This is Wallen’s second album to be released.
In the interview, he said that the original plan was to just have an album released. But he kept on writing and recording songs and, after talking it over with his people, decided to go ahead and add them to his second album.
The double album release definitely gives Morgan Wallen more songs to consider when performing back in front of crowds again.
Morgan Wallen Waits To Have Big-Crowd Moment
One of the things Wallen has yet to fully experience is having a really large crowd sing his songs back to him.
It’s an experience other country musicians have had in their careers and, while he might not come out and say it, Wallen probably wants that sensation, too.
In the interview, Bones said, “Now you have songs that 20,000 people will sing back to you.”
“Yeah, it’s unreal,” Wallen said. “I don’t know.”
Ultimately, Wallen said, “I think ‘Sand In My Boots’ is one of my personal favorites, too. I’m really looking forward to seeing what that one’s like. It’s, um, you know it’s a bittersweet type of thing. Like a lot of what’s going on in the world, it’s bittersweet.”
“Sand In My Boots” is a song that reflects emotions and feelings around a relationship that was summer hot and cooled off.
The song’s chorus goes “Somethin’ ’bout the way she kissed me tеlls me she’d love Eastеrn Tennessee/Yeah, but all I brought back with me was some sand in my boots.” One can paint a picture in one’s mind about what that looks like.
Here is Wallen being interviewed by Bobby Bones about the new album, his appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” and much more on “The Bobby Bones Show.”
Wallen Talks About His Song ‘More Than My Hometown’
Wallen surprised fans with his fourth consecutive Billboard Hot Country Charts No. 1 song, “More Than My Hometown.”
Wallen released the single in the summer of 2020 as a much-needed musical gift to fans stuck at home during quarantine. The song spent 36 weeks on the Hot Country Songs chart and quickly jumped to the No. 1 spot. But what’s the story behind the song? Wallen spills about the true meaning behind the country hit.
At first listen, “More Than My Hometown” seems to be about a breakup. During the song, Wallen sings about a couple who quickly fall in love.
However, they have different ideas about how they want to live their lives. He wants to stay in his hometown while his girlfriend wants to explore a new city.
Despite their love for each other, they know that they have to part ways. Wallen sings, “Your big dream bags are all packed up and ready to go. But I just need you to know that I love you more than a California sunset. More than a beer when you ain’t twenty-one yet…I love you more than my hometown.”
