Morgan Wallen Takes Quiz to Reflect on His 2020

by Jennifer Shea

Country singer Morgan Wallen took CMT’s 2020 year-end quiz to look back over the year now passed and what he’s accomplished in it.

Morgan Wallen Takes the Quiz

For the quiz, Wallen had to answer how many total streams he’s had this year. Then how many nominations he’s gotten this year. Also how many awards he’s won this year. And how many new Instagram followers he’s picked up this year. Plus his most-liked photo on Instagram. And finally, how many times his video has played on CMT this year.

A Wild 2020 for Wallen

Wallen has had a wild year. He got invited to appear on “Saturday Night Live.” Then, amid a maskless partying scandal, he got uninvited.

“I’m in New York City, in a hotel room, I was getting ready for ‘SNL’ this Saturday, and I got a call from the show letting me know that I would no longer be able to play,” Wallen said at the time. “And that’s because of COVID protocols, which I understand.”

He later appeared on “SNL” and laughed at himself in a sketch about said scandal.

Before that, Wallen had to apologize on Twitter because he got kicked out of Kid Rock’s Nashville bar. He was later arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

“Hey y’all just wanted to clear the air. I went out downtown last night with a few old friends,” Wallen wrote after the incident. “After a couple bar stops, we were horse-playing with each other. We didn’t mean any harm, and we want to say sorry to any bar staff or anyone that was affected.”

Wallen reportedly left the bar and started picking verbal fights with people walking down the street. Police gave him the opportunity to walk away, but he refused to do so, leading them to decide he was “a danger to himself and the public,” the Tennessean reported.

But for all the rambunctiousness and scandal that comes with Wallen, he’s actually had a lot of good luck in 2020. And with his new album set to be released next month, he can only hope it continues.
