Friends show friends their secret tattoos. Even Dolly Parton revealed her hidden tattoo to her country music friend, Naomi Judd.
Naomi Judd is a longtime fan of Dolly Parton. In fact, before she and her daughter Wynonna became a famous duo, they performed a cover of Dolly’s hit song, “Coat of Many Colors.” So it’s no surprise that Naomi and Dolly are now friends. And as all friends do, Naomi recently dished about some of her chuckle-worthy moments with Dolly. During an interview, Naomi revealed that she even saw Dolly naked before a performance at the Grand Ole Opry.
“I’ve seen Dolly naked” sang Judd jokingly. “Well, at the award shows, everyone has their own dressing rooms at the Grand Ole Opry.”
When asked to reveal a little more about the incident, Judd revealed that Dolly Parton has a hidden tattoo.
“Can I get away with saying her symbol was a butterfly? She might have a butterfly tattoo,” said Judd coyly. “The last time I saw her, she said, ‘Well, if you’re like me, the older you get, the less makeup you use but the more underwear you wear.'”
Does Dolly Parton Really Have Tattoos?
For years, fans have wondered if their favorite country superstar had any ink. During an interview, Dolly finally revealed that she does in fact have a few tattoos.
“I do have some tattoos, that’s true,” said Parton. “But they’re tasteful. I’m not a tattoo girl.”
Dolly added that she got one of her tattoos to cover up a scar from when she was on a feeding tube.
“My tattoos are pretty, they’re artful and they usually started out to cover some scar…Ribbons and bows and butterflies are the things that I have,” said Parton. “I was very sick for a while and I had to wear a feeding tube. It left a little indention in my side and I didn’t like it because I’m so fair that scars turn purple on me.”
Dolly said that she likes to turn negatives into positives so she decided to get a little beehive tattooed over the scar. She said that the tattoo is a little yellow and brown beehive with a tiny bee at the top and the opening of the beehive is the little sinkhole of the scar.
There’s one tattoo that Dolly Parton doesn’t have and will never need: a tattoo of her husband Carl’s name. “He’s tattooed on my heart,” said Dolly.
