Faith Hill made country music fans proud when she performed “America, The Beautiful” prior to the start of Super Bowl XLIII in 2009.

The popular country singer turned in a performance worth a standing ovation. Her voice is uplifting and she captures the importance of the moment. With a talented choir supporting her, Faith Hill’s voice soars over the stadium. It’s a performance never to be forgotten.

In Super Bowl XLIII the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Arizona Cardinals, 27-23, to win the coveted title. The game was played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida.

You can watch Faith Hill sing “American, The Beautiful” at Super Bowl XLIII in 2009 below.

Her 2009 performance at the Super Bowl wasn’t Faith Hill’s first at one of the country’s most popular annual events.

Nine years prior, Faith Hill sang the National Anthem before the start of Super Bowl XXXIV between the Los Angeles Rams and the Tennessee Titans. The Rams won the title, 23-16.

On that night in early 2000 inside the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Faith Hill performed alongside bagpipe players and drummers. She sang beautifully and nailed all the difficult notes in the song.

Country music stars have performed during the Super Bowl many times. Charley Pride sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” before the game in 1974. Garth Brooks performed in 1993. The Chicks performed in 2003.

And, who could forget Whitney Houston’s rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner” prior to the start of Super Bowl XXV in 1991.

Performing at Super Bowl LV on Feb. 7, 2021, will be Eric Church and Jazmine Sullivan.

Church has resisted singing the “National Anthem” before because it is difficult to sing; however, hearing Sullivan sing made him change his mind. “And then I heard her and I’m not missing a chance to sing with her, and that was it,” Church recently said. “Once I heard her voice, I said, ‘Okay, I’m in.'”

Super Bowl LV will be a battle between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers led by Tom Brady and the Kansas Chiefs led by Patrick Mahomes.
