Country music star Carrie Underwood took to social media to gush over the special moment she shared while singing with her son.
In Underwood’s first-ever holiday album, My Gift, her fans will get to hear the voice of an extra-special guest. The popular country singer’s 5-year-old son, Isaiah, is featured in a duet with his mom in a rendition of “Little Drummer Boy.”
On Tuesday, Underwood made a post sharing how happy she was to have captured such a special moment in her life.
“So happy we captured the sweetest voice in this special moment in time,” Underwood wrote in her Instagram post. “My own Little Drummer Boy will be a part of the #MyGift Christmas Special beginning this Thursday on @hbomax! #MyGiftHBOMax 🥁🎁✨ bit.ly/MyGiftHBOMax”
The Grammy winner announced recently that the special My Gift: A Christmas Special from Carrie Underwood will stream on HBO Max beginning on Dec. 3.
Carrie Underwood Hopes Her Album Brings People Joy
Underwood’s Christmas special will feature music from her most recent album My Gift. The album includes her favorite Christmas songs. In the show, she’ll be accompanied by a band and a live orchestra. Singer/songwriter John Legend will also take part. He and Underwood will sing Hallelujah, a song he wrote for her album.
“Just like the album, I hope this special will help bring some much-needed joy and become part of the soundtrack to people’s holiday festivities this year as it streams throughout the season and beyond,” Underwood said in a press release.
In a promotional video for her album, Underwood explained why she decided to create a Christmas album.
“Now more than ever, we all need to focus on what Christmas is about, rely more on our family, and even though it has been a tough year, sometimes I feel like the greatest realizations can come in the worst times, or in the most stressful times, and it makes you more thankful for the things you do have,” she says in the video.
Meanwhile, My Gift debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Country, Christian and Holiday charts during its release back in September.
