Country music star Shania Twain recently took to social media to post a photo of herself lounging around in her Christmas pajamas. It’s pretty clear that the winter blues aren’t affecting Twain, one of the queens of country music.
The multi-award-winning country star posted a photo of her looking comfortable and happy in her home. In the photo, she’s smiling in her red and black plaid pajamas and also rocking a Santa Claus hat. Twain is cuddling up with her dog who is looking directly into the camera, not sure what to make of the situation.
“Merry Christmas everyone, from my home to yours ❤️,” she wrote on Twitter.
Shania Twain Covers ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’
In continuing with the holiday theme, we’re going back more than 20 years to when Shania Twain sang Mariah Carey’s classic Christmas hit, “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” We recently featured Twain’s cover of the song in one of our country throwbacks.
Back in December of 1998, the female country music legend made an appearance on the NBC Today show as part of its weeklong Christmas music celebration. Prior to taking the stage, NBC anchor Katie Couric spoke with the then 33-year-old about some of the tragedies she had to face at a young age.
When Shania Twain was just 21-years-old, she lost both her parents in a tragic car accident. As a result, she was left to raise and mentor three of her younger siblings in Canada. Twain spoke to Couric about how being cheerful around the holidays helps her cope with her loss.
“It’s always tough this time of year,” the singer explained. “They died just a month before Christmas, it’s been 11 years now, but it’s always tough at Christmas time. Great cheer and all that kind of stuff helps.”
During the live performance, Twain puts her signature style on the Christmas hit. She is rocking black leather pants, a red sweater, and a happy smile. It would be impossible for viewers to know the signer endured so much heartache at such a young age.
Despite the tragedy she has faced, Twain has without a doubt became one of the biggest stars in the industry. When Couric asked her about her personal success, Twain expressed nothing but gratitude.
“This has been the greatest year of my life so far,” she said.
Although Shania Twain hasn’t released a Christmas album yet, she teased us with the song, “Say All You Want for Christmas,” with Nick Jonas.
