As Christmas approaches, many country stars have found ways to get into the holiday season. For the “It’s a Great Day to be Alive” singer, Travis Tritt, that involves a gun and some mistletoe. In an Instagram post earlier today, Tritt shows off his most recent hunting results… and it wasn’t a deer or a duck.
“I shot down some mistletoe today for our holiday decorations,” Travis Tritt wrote, proudly holding up his bough of Mistletoe. “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone!”
Country Music Stars Prepare for the Holidays
Travis Tritt isn’t the only country music superstar getting into the holiday spirit. Country singers all across the genre have gotten into the mood for Christmas over the past month and change.
For instance, Toby Keith created his very own country Christmas playlist to help get his fans in the mood. The playlist, “A Very Toby Christmas,” consists of almost forty songs by country music stars. From George Strait to Charlie Daniels, the playlist has all of the Christmas classics from the genre’s top singers.
Carrie Underwood even went as far as releasing her own Christmas album titled My Gift. This beautiful album consists of 11 classic holiday tunes reimagined by the country music star. The album even includes three originals, one of which (“Hallelujah”) she co-wrote with John Legend.
Travis Tritt Joins the Holiday Hunting Squad
While Travis Tritt may not have been hunting animals, he certainly wasn’t alone in wielding a rifle this holiday season. Many of the top country music stars, old and young, have hit the hunting spots this winter. Ted Nugent recently showed off his 8-point buck that he took down yesterday. Similarly, the young singer, Riley Green, has shared his bountiful harvests almost every day for the last month.
Whether it’s a big ole’ twelve-point buck or just a bough of mistletoe, nothing feels more like Christmas than bringing something home from a hunt. At least for country music stars like Travis Tritt, that makes all the difference.
