Reba McEntire Drops Epic Pic From Grand Ole Opry Performance: ‘Nice to Be Back in Front of an Audience’

Reba McEntire has been hitting the stage once again. And what’s more, she is pretty happy about that.

The country superstar performed live at the Grand Ole Opry on Tuesday. And after the show – before a packed crowd, by the looks of it – McEntire took to Instagram to share an onstage photo with her fans.

“Thanks to everyone who came out to the @opry tonight!” McEntire posted. “Sure was nice to be back in front of an audience!!! #cantevengettheblues.”

Reba McEntire Performs Live Again

In addition to her Opry performance Tuesday, McEntire has scheduled some tour dates for 2022. They are taking place primarily across the South and Midwest.

Prior to her Opry performance, McEntire tweeted out a backstage video. In it, she described her excitement at returning to the Opry stage again. The singer made her Opry debut in 1977. On that night, she almost didn’t make it past security and got to share the stage with Dolly Parton.

“Hey, we are really excited to be here at the Grand Ole Opry on June 22, 2021,” McEntire said in Tuesday’s video. “It has been over a year since we have been in front of a live audience. And we couldn’t have picked a better place to start back up singin’ and performin’ in front of a live audience.”

“We’re really excited to be back in front of the crowd and I know that are some Tweebas out there who have driven over 12 hours to be at the Grand Ole Opry with us,” McEntire added, in a nod to some of her more devoted fans. “Very grateful to have such loyal, dedicated, and wonderful fans. See y’all out there!”

McEntire Stresses Her Political Neutrality Amid Fundraiser Mix-Up

Meanwhile, in a recent scheduling dustup, Reba McEntire was forced to reassert her political neutrality, explaining that she does not get involved in politics at all. McEntire took that step after South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem’s office announced that McEntire would be a “special guest” at a Montana fundraiser for Noem.

“Last night, an invitation to a political fundraiser with my name attached was sent out without my knowledge or permission,” McEntire tweeted. “I had and have no plans to attend this event and had told the event organizers as such. Throughout my career, I have stated that I do not get involved in politics and that remains true today.”

Noem’s spokesman insisted that her office followed standard procedures for confirming guests at the fundraiser. And he said the governor is a huge fan of McEntire’s, according to the Sioux Falls Argus Leader.

But McEntire’s fans were not amused. The replies to her tweets quickly filled up with affirmations of McEntire’s stance.

“Thank you for your convictions,” one fan tweeted.

“I know how you feel I have people tag my name on something that I don’t even give anybody permission to do on Facebook and that really pisses me off,” another fan chimed in.

“Thank you for not getting involved and for clearing this up!” yet another fan replied.

Fortunately for McEntire’s fans, she has plenty of public appearances coming up. The Opry performance is just one among many.
