Reba McEntire fans, get excited! The country legend announced on Thursday (August 12th) she is releasing her classic hits in a blockbuster triple album, Revived Remixed and Revisited.
Reba McEntire took to her Instagram account and shared a few of the hits that would be featured in the upcoming album. This includes I’m a Survivor, Consider Me Gone, and Is There Life Out There? Other tracks reportedly included are You Keep Me Hangin’ On and Fancy.
Revived Remixed and Revisited is will hit stores on October 8th and pre-order options are currently available. The album is making its debut just a few months after Reba McEntire releases the 30th anniversary of her 1991 album For the Broken Heart.
Along with news about her upcoming album, McEntire will be hosting the Livestream of the 2021 Country Music Hall of Fame Inductees. The event will take place on Monday (August 16th).
According to Billboard, other Livestream hosts have included Brenda Lee, Vince Gill, Garth Brooks, and Trisha Yearwood. Each other inductees are selected in three categories, which are modern era artists (20+ years after first achieving national prominence; veterans era artists (40+ years); and a rotation between recording and/or touring musicians, songwriters, and non-performers.
Reba McEntire Opens Up About Her Music Career’s Early Years
In an interview with CMT, Reba McEntire shares what really helped her music career during the early years. “Mom and Daddy were very influential over all four of us kids – encouraging us, keeping us busy. That’s the way we stay out of trouble,” McEntire explains. She also says her parents were encouraging her and her siblings to always follow their dreams. But don’t stay too long.
While revealing when she realized she could sing, Reba McEntire admits, “The time when I thought I had something different is when I wasn’t getting in trouble for talking or singing. When I was going to sing, everybody stopped playing dominos or whatever and would listen. I started singing when I was little bitty,” Reba then recalls.
Reba also declares she has taken chances in her career. Despite being known for country music, she has enjoyed singing songs from other music genres. “When I did Respect on the CMA Awards show, people said, ‘Why on earth would you do an Aretha Franklin song?’ I said, ‘I’m her biggest fan! I love this song!’ ‘Yeah, but that’s an Aretha Franklin song.’ It never dawned on me. It just never dawned on me.”
“I just sing songs I like to sing that touch my heart. Hopefully, if I sing them right, they touch yours, too,” Reba continues. In regards to her acting career, McEntire adds, “I always wanted to be an actress and wanted to be a movie star. I always thought there was an imaginary camera following me around all the time.”
