Tanya Tucker Undergoes Emergency Hip Replacement Surgery

by Matthew Wilson

Tanya Tucker is recovering and resting after a recent surgery. The country legend had to undergo an emergency hip replacement. But Tucker wanted her fans to know that she’s well and that she’s on the mend now.

In an Instagram post, Tucker addressed her followers, giving them an update on her health. She admitted that she had been suffering from hip pain for some time now. Recently, doctors discovered that she had a fracture and scheduled surgery almost right away.

On Instagram, Tucker wrote: “Hey Loves, My hip has been giving me hell for a while now and the docs discovered a hip fracture. I had to have surgery right away. The operation went well and I’m on track for a speedy recovery. I’ll be at home healing for a few weeks, but can’t wait to get back out and see you as soon as I can. I LOVE y’all and a bad hip can’t keep me down!”

Unfortunately for the Tanya faithful, the musician had to cancel or postpone her concert dates for July as a result. Given that she’ll be recovering for the next few weeks, Tucker will be unable to perform her scheduled dates. Tucker had planned to make an appearance at the Country Thunder Wisconsin Festival in Twin Lakes. Likewise, she was also going to appear the Sugar Creek Casino in Hinton, Oklahoma and also the Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua in Bayfield, Wisconsin.

Tucker’s representative discussed the cancellations with WDIO. They said, “It is with regret that we have to cancel all shows for the remainder of July as Tanya has been admitted to the hospital today for an emergency hip replacement surgery as an MRI has revealed a hip fracture that requires immediate attention. We truly appreciate you.”

Tanya Tucker And Horseback Riding

Tanya Tucker also won’t be able to pursue her other passion for some time as well. The country singer loves horses. But she won’t be able to ride anytime soon given the state of her hip. Tucker has several horses, including one that she named in honor of Loretta Lynn.

“I’ve got a new filly, gonna be a cutting horse – out of a really big stud called Smooth as a Cat. And I named her Miss Loretta Lynn,” Tucker said in 2018. “So, I had to get permission to use her name for the American Quarter Horse Association. They don’t allow you to do that unless you get permission. So, I went out to her house and she signed that paper twice, she loved it! And I sent her pictures of Loretta and I’m going to get a great trainer…and we’ll see, it’s nice if I get to have a horse named Miss Loretta Lynn just make the finals. But hey, let’s go all the way, as long as we’re thinking, let’s go all the way and win the thing!”

Here’s hoping that Tanya Tucker has a swift and speedy recovery and get back to all the things she loves.
