Jon Pardi is a “Hunka hunka burnin love, baby” for Halloween, and he’s doing the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll proud alongside wife Summer Duncan.

Lord almighty, I feel my temperature risin’! Surely these lovebirds do, too, this Halloween as the Pardis rock and roll as the King himself: Elvis Presley.

Studded out in Vegas-era jumpsuits, the pair look about as faithful as it gets. Jon, specifically, looks as if he could’ve made a fine career as an Elvis impersonator. If, y’know, he hadn’t landed it huge as a country superstar in his own right. Something tells us he prefers the latter.

Aside from a physical resemblance to the King, Pardi has Presley’s iconic smirk down-pat. The pompadour and oversized aviators seal the deal, with Summer Duncan Pardi stealing the show with her own sultry version of the King:

“Hunka hunka burnin love, baby,” Jon Pardi captions the shot on his official Twitter Sunday. Fans are all-in for the Pardis’ look, with the comments burnin’ their own love.

“This looks very similar to your typical award show suits. The lady makes the costume! Happy Halloween, King!” replies Ryan Hamilton.

Indeed, as Jon Pardi fans know, this is far from the first time the country star has suited up as Elvis Presley – or emulated his own style after him. One of the most notable instances was when Pardi brought his “friend Elvis Pardi” to bring out Dirks Bentley’s 2017 tour with a bang:

Then, in 2018, Jon Pardi would perform onstage during ACM Stories, Songs & Stars: A Songwriter’s Event Benefiting ACM Lifting Lives at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on April 13, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada – all dressed as Elvis Prelsey (cover image above).

Lord almighty, Jon Pardi.

From Jon Pardi to Luke Bryan, Elvis Presley Influenced Them All

As any fan of the King knows, his Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love lyric is often emulated and imitated. It’s a trademark associated with Elvis Presley as heavily as his pompadour and Vegas fashion. Despite the urban legends, however, it wasn’t a part of the man’s daily vocabulary. But there is a strong reason for its prevalence.

The line comes at the very end of Burning Love, one of Elvis’ last chart-topping singles. The Vegas-laden hit begins like so:

Lord Almighty
I feel my temperature rising
Higher, higher
It’s burning through to my soul

Girl, girl, girl, girl
You gonna set me on fire
My brain is flaming
I don’t know which way to go

Your kisses lift me higher
Like the sweet song of a choir
You light my morning sky
With burning love

Elvis Presley, Burning Love

Then, after a wild build, the outro burns with Elvis and co. repeating Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love over half a dozen times to bring out the song. And an iconic lyric was born.

From the seamless blending of country and rock ‘n’ roll in hits like Burning Love, Elvis would pave the way for countless country crooners. Jon Pardi obviously takes great inspiration from the King, but he’s far from alone. Other megastars like Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw – and even Paul McCartney on the other side of the spectrum – have stated how Elvis Presley was the influence above all influences that sent them into a life of entertainment.

And we wouldn’t have it any other way.
