Currently, country artist Blake Shelton is the last original member of “The Voice” left in the judges’ chairs. But he may leave sooner rather than later.

Over the years, Blake has spoken fondly of his experience listening and coaching new talent on “The Voice.” He is infamous for his hilarious bickering and loving relationship with ex-judge, Adam Levine. He also happened to meet his future wife, Gwen Stefani, on the set of the singing competition.

Shelton joined Hoda Kotb for a surprise co-hosting appearance on “Today with Hoda & Jenna” on March 31. She asks him if he could picture a more calm life in 10 years. That means far less time spent on a private jet, making appearance after appearance, and more time at home.

“I hope that’s not too far down the road. Ten years sounds like way too long to me. I’d like to see that sooner than later. I mean, we’ve both pretty much taken it to the limit as far as our careers go and touring and now the television thing. It’s been fortunate to accomplish a lot of things. But, hopefully, at some point, we get a chance to live some life,” Shelton said.

Blake Shelton Has No Intentions to Leave Yet

While he does want to settle down, Shelton has not said he is willing to leave his position as the champion and jokester of “The Voice” just yet. When blatantly asked if he was going to leave the show, Blake Shelton joked about all the false articles and the claims he was getting “fired.”

“I don’t plan on going anywhere. I’d like to stay there as long as I can. Yes, I’m staying there, of course, I’m staying there. I love that job,” Shelton said.

Both Adam Levine and Blake Shelton were a constant presence on the show. But Levine left the musical competition. With Shelton being the last original judge, the show would surely take a hit if he were to depart. The show has also seen a variety of different judges come and go over the last few years. And Shelton has outlasted them all.

Ariana Grande revealed she would be taking over Nick Jonas’ position for the next season. John Legend and Kelly Clarkson are currently hosting right now. Gwen Stefani was a judge as well for five seasons. Miley Cyrus, Shakira, Alicia Keys, and Pharrell Williams are just a few judges that have also appeared on the stage.

Shelton has been a judge on the NBC show since its first premiered in 2011. With ten years of experience and time on the show, Shelton has accumulated the best winning record out of all the judges to ever appear on the show.

He has brought at least one artist from his team to every finale (except for season five). He has had seven winners come from his team so far.

Shelton and Stefani have been engaged since October 2020. They have spent the last year together at his ranch in Oklahoma. The couple then moved into a home together in Los Angeles in preparation for a new school year for Stefani’s kids.

Shelton also told Kotb that the couple is now hoping for a wedding in the summer after COVID-19 delayed their plans.
