Thomas Rhett is feeling optimistic that the days of COVID will soon be behind us, which means he can get back to doing what he does best—singing to sold-out crowds.
“I cannot wait to get back on the road in 2022 and have a new record under my belt, having a couple new singles off this project out,” Rhett shared with his record label, Big Machine Records. “It’s just gonna be a great year to get back on the road with some new friends and get to see a bunch of my favorite people. Just watching the fans file into those shows is literally one of my favorite feelings on the planet.”
Thomas Rhett canceled all of his 2020 concerts once the pandemic hit. After headlining at the American Music Awards in 2019, he spent a year and a half laying low.
Of course, Rhett hasn’t taken any extended breaks from the stage this year, though. The CMA winner played 28 events in 2021. The concerts just haven’t been as lively as he likes.
“I feel thankful that we got to play shows this year in the first place. But I do feel like it was somewhat of a warm-up,” he admitted.
But next year, that’s all going to change. He can feel it.
“I think 2022 is gonna feel like the most normal year since 2019,” he continued. “I don’t know: I feel content, I feel clearheaded, I feel joyful.”
As of yet, Thomas Rhett only has three concerts on his schedule after the new year. And all of them are festival appearances. But we’re assuming the Die a Happy Man crooner will be announcing at least one official tour in the near future.
Aside from Rhett’s obvious desire to entertain, he also has two albums releasing next year. Where We Started hits stores early in the year. Then Country Again: Side B will follow in the fall. And as we all know, when there is a record release, there is usually a namesake tour close behind.
Thomas Rhett is a Proud Father of 4 and More Kids are ‘Probably’ on the Way
On November 15th, Thomas Rhett and his wife, Lauren Atkins, welcomed Lillie Carolina Akins to the world.
The proud father announced the news via Instagram two days later.
Lillie Carolina Akins born November 15th. 7.5 pounds of pure joy,” he wrote before adding that his wife is his hero. “Watching a child being born is legit a miracle. 4 under 6 here we go!”
Thomas and Lauren have three other children together—all girls—Willa Gray, 6, Ada James, 4, and Lennon Love, 1. And they’re not quite ready to stop expanding their family just yet.
According to PEOPLE, Thomas Rhett recently hosted a Q&A session on his Instagram stories. One of his fans asked if the country singer would like more children. And his answer was pretty straightforward.
“Probably!” he answered with a laugh.
