Thomas Rhett States Upcoming Album Was Inspired By What He Learned During COVID-19 Pandemic

Earlier this month, Thomas Rhett revealed his fifth studio album, Country Again, was inspired by what he learned during the COVID-19 pandemic. “For me, the word ‘country’ means simple,” Rhett states. He also says ‘simple’ is his favorite synonym for the word and he thinks that Country Again is that in a nutshell.

“With the year that we had in 2020, I think a lot of us were forced to not do what we do for a living,” Thomas Rhett further explains. “And [we were] forced to slow down and really forced to recognize, like, what are your blessings in life and what are you grateful for?”

Thomas Rhett then says that he is grateful for his family and the outdoors. “That was getting outside again. Going fishing [and] hunting again, going out West, and hiking with my family,” he comments. Rhett adds those at the things that he used to love to do so much, and then life just “kind of got in the way.”

Country Again: Side A was debut in April 2021. The album features tracks like “Want It Again,” “Growing Up,” and What’s Your Country Song.”

Country Again: Side B is to launch later on in 2021. The actual date of the release has not been announced.
