Tim McGraw Declares ‘It’s That Time of Year’ for His ‘Favorite’ Faith Hill Christmas Song

Country star Tim McGraw is thinking of his wife Faith Hill this holiday season, and of the song “Where Are You Christmas?”

“It’s that time of year…” McGraw posted to Instagram Monday. “my favorite!!”

James Horner and Will Jennings originally wrote the song for the 2000 movie “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” According to Lyrics.com, Mariah Carey then co-wrote a longer take on the song with more lyrics, which became “Where Are You Christmas?”

Carey had recorded the song herself at first. But she couldn’t release it due to a legal dispute with her ex-husband. So Hill recorded her own version of the song and released it.

Hill’s music video also features Taylor Momsen, who played Cindy Lou Who in “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”

A Holiday Home Together

As for the holiday festivities, McGraw suggested in a recent statement that Hill is in charge of the cooking.

When it comes to Thanksgiving dinner, at least (and probably Christmas dinner, too), he said he stays out of the way.

“For Thanksgiving, I don’t cook,” McGraw said. “Faith does all the cooking for Thanksgiving.”

McGraw told Entertainment Tonight that the two like to hang out at home together, especially since the pandemic began.

“Faith and I spend 90 percent of our time together,” McGraw said. “We’re sort of homebodies. We don’t get out much and we always cook at home. We don’t eat out much.”

He added, “We’re always around the house, so we spend a lot of time together anyway. But this has been really good. We enjoy just cuddling up and watching movies, TV series.”

This holiday season and all through the year, McGraw remains a fan of Hill’s voice and her spirit.

“She has a heart just as big as her voice,” McGraw said. Hill “loves everybody and she wants to do the best for everybody and she always wants everything to be perfect for everybody. She loves me unconditionally, which says a lot ’cause there’s a lot of conditions of me.”
