Who’s ready to buy an island? Country music couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are selling their private island estate.
Everyone’s favorite country music couple is selling their Bahamian island estate for $35 million. And it’s worth every penny! The two spent a decade developing the estate. They originally purchased the island known as Goat Cay in 2003. The island is located in the Exumas, a district of the Bahamas comprised of a chain of over 365 islands, about 280 miles east of Miami. They renamed the island, L’ile d’Anges – French for isle of angels. And they spent the next 10 years, transforming what was an undeveloped 19.77-acre island into a resort-like compound. The estate includes a 6,517-square-foot main residence, two beaches, and hundreds of imported palm trees.
“We’ve been all over the world, and we really wanted to create a special place we couldn’t find anywhere else,” said Hill.
But it wasn’t as easy as they expected. Hill added that there were challenges to building a home on a remote island.
“We set out to build a house,” said Hill. “But we had no idea we had to build everything else. We basically had to build a little town.”
But the work was worth it, according to Tim McGraw.
“Every time we land the plane and walk onto the beach and head up to the house, we turn to each other and say, ‘This is the best place in the world,'” said McGraw.
What Does Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s $35 Million Island Estate Include?
So, Faith Hill wasn’t kidding when she said she and Tim McGraw essentially built a city on their island. But we’ll get to that in a second. For now, let’s start with the main home. The couple’s main residence is made up of eight structures. The structures are connected by 5,000 square feet of thatch-covered verandas and breezeways. The home consists of four bedrooms and an owner’s suite. One of the bedrooms even features an outdoor bathtub that overlooks the ocean. Talk about taking your self-care bubble baths to the next level! The living room features a wall of windows that, with just a touch of a button, disappear into the ceiling. The room connects with a sundeck that includes an in-ground pool and open-air dining area.
Additionally, the island includes two beaches covered in powder-grade white sand. One of the beaches holds two large yurts. There is full air conditioning in the yurts and both feature wood decks leading right to the ocean. One yurt is furnished as a bedroom. And the other is a beachfront gym. But that’s not all the island holds. There are 6,000 square feet of additional structures on the island, including three waterfront villas each with two-bedroom suites for housing staff or guests.
Additionally, there are eight tanks that can store 64,000 gallons of filtered drinking water, two mobile-home-sized generators that power the entire island, two satellite dishes for TV service, and two more dishes that provide high-speed internet access.
So, who’s ready to move to Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s remote island?
