Tim McGraw is doing a little light reading. The country music star shared with fans a “fascinating” biography that he’s been reading in his spare time.

Recently, McGraw has been reading “Black Spartacus: The Epic Life of Toussaint Louverture” by Sudhir Hazareesingh. The biography tells the real-life story of Toussaint Louverture, a former slave in the late 1700s.

Louverture was a part of the French Caribbean colony Saint-Domingue (now modern-day Haiti). He successfully led a slave revolt against their oppressors. He also united the colony under his leadership and led Haiti to become an independent nation. But unfortunately for Louverture, he never saw that dream come true. During the early 1800s, French military forces captured him, and he died in prison.

On Twitter, McGraw shared the title of the biography with a pair of reading glasses. He also wrote, “Good read Fascinating!”

Twitter Reacted to Tim McGraw’s Reading Choice

On Twitter, several users celebrated McGraw’s choice of non-fiction literature. He received a couple of heart and also smile emojis in response. One user wrote, “A profound love, an unshakable trust, a complete understanding, a whole support: it didn’t worthwhile and you didn’t deserve all of this.”

Another also commented, “Okay then Tim! Knowledge can be dangerous, it often leads to action.”
