We’re wagering we don’t need to tell you this, but in case you’ve been living under a rock: Tim McGraw is ripped. The country icon, now 53, is in far better shape than most singers half his age. And he’s no stranger to showing it off, either.
Posting a BTS shot today, McGraw is letting his fans & followers in on his thoughts of late. And his muscles. Mostly his muscles.
“Miss these pre-show workouts with the boys… Dang, ready to tour,” the singer-songwriter says on his official Instagram. The caption comes in service of McGraw performing pull-ups on his touring workout rig. While one crew member is joining Tim in the workout, another stands to the side watching. We’re assuming he caught a bout of “what’s the point” after seeing Tim McGraw doing shirtless pull-ups… Or it’s this guy.
As for that massive structure in the background, Oklahoma fans will know this is The BOK Center, or Bank of Oklahoma Center. The massive, multi-purpose arena seats 19,199 people, making it a perfect venue for Tim McGraw in the past… When concerts and touring were a thing…
How Does Tim McGraw Stay in Such Excellent Shape?
This is the question, right? Recently, the country star discussed just that with one of his friends. That friend also happens to be Bruce Springsteen.
“How do you stay in shape so well? ‘Cause you’re in great shape,” McGraw starts off during the Apple Music interview.
Right as Springsteen starts off, however, McGraw cuts in with “I know you like treadmills!” This feels an inside joke we’re not privy to, as the two share a hearty laugh at the mention.
“Did I tell you that story? I told you that story…” Springsteen recalls. “Well, we’ll skip it for now,” he laughs, “but if anyone’s come off a treadmill at about 60 mph – that’s what happened to me!”
“Y’know, I don’t really do that much right now. I lift [weights] to stay toned,” The Boss starts off of his current workout regime. “I may get on the treadmill… I’ll walk – I don’t run anymore,” he smiles, referencing his harrowing incident.
As for his main concern when it comes to staying in shape?
“Diet is 90% of the Game”, says The Boss
“The biggest thing is: diet, diet, diet,” Springsteen emphasizes. “I don’t eat too much, and I don’t eat bad food. Except for once in a while when I want to have some fun for myself. So I think if anyone is trying to get in shape, exercise is always important, of course. But diet is 90% of the game.”
