Tim McGraw Reveals ‘Deep’ Behind-the-Scenes Photo from Making of ‘Country Strong’

Today was flashback Friday for Tim McGraw fans. The country music star took to social media to post a throwback photo from the filming of Country Strong.

That’s right, for those who didn’t know, Tim McGraw once starred in a drama film. The 2010 movie, Country Strong, starred McGraw, Gwyneth Paltrow, Garrett Hedlund, and Leighton Meester. It was about an emotionally unstable country singer who does her best to resurrect her career.

Meanwhile, the movie was written and directed by filmmaker Shana Feste. After making its premiere in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2010, the movie saw its wide release the following year.

And on Friday, Tim McGraw gifted his fans and followers on social media with a flashback shot of him on the set of the movie with Feste.

“#Flashback to shooting ‘Country Strong,” McGraw posted on Twitter. “Deep conversation with director Shana Feste.”

Country music fans not only remembered the film Country Strong, but say it remains one of their favorite movies today.

“Best movie ever!” one fan exclaimed. “You should do another one with Gwyneth Paltrow.”

“Have it on my DVR,” another fan proudly replied. “Love the movie and love the music.”

Country Strong was the second film in which Tim McGraw and Hedlund have worked together. The first one was the popular high school football movie, Friday Night Lights, in 2004.

2021 is 10-Year Anniversary of ‘Country Strong’ With Tim McGraw

Country Strong is just one of those movies that only gets better over time. And that goes especially so for country music fans. First released 10 years ago, the movie still has fans talking about it to this day.

Although Tim McGraw does not actually take the stage himself during the film, everyone remembers when Gwyneth Paltrow’s character Kelly Canter sings “Coming Home” in front of a packed house. Still today, the soundtrack from Country Strong remains one of the very best parts of the entire film.

Tim McGraw actually played James Canter — the husband and manager of Paltrow’s character. McGraw, who is 53 now, fits in the movie perfectly given that he is one of the most popular country music artists of all time. And although he doesn’t actually perform in the movie, he and Paltrow do sing together on “Me and Tennessee,” which is part of the official soundtrack.

McGraw, of course, has also famously appeared in films such as The Blind Side, Tomorrowland, and The Shack. He even served as a key advisor during Season 11 of The Voice.
