Tim McGraw Asks Faith Hill to Marry Him…a Couple of Times
McGraw confesses that he asked for Faith’s hand in marriage on more than one occasion. Persistence paid off as said eventually said yes — in the most Faith Hill way possible.
“We had dated for a while,” McGraw recalls. “I actually asked her to marry quite a few times and she kept saying no. She said that she wasn’t going to get involved with another country singer and it isn’t going to work out.”
A motivated and in love Tim McGraw wasn’t going down that easy. With his eyes and heart set on Faith Hill, McGraw knew he was making the right decision. It was at a country music festival that Hill finally gave in and said yes to Tim McGraw. It was with her own lipstick that Faith Hill agreed to become McGraw’s wife.
McGraw asked Hill to marry him while waiting to go on stage inside of his trailer. He went to the stage without receiving an answer but the answer would be made loud and clear when he returned to the trailer.
“I looked at the mirror and in lipstick, it said ‘Yes, I am going to be your wife,'” Tim McGraw says to finish the story.
“We still have that mirror,” he says, “It was the best day of my life — that’s for sure!”
