Travis Tritt Talks Releasing New Music After Fourteen Years

During a recent interview with Glide Magazine, Travis Tritt spoke about releasing new music after fourteen years. “Well, it wasn’t because of laziness that I didn’t record anything for about fourteen years. I’ve never been very good at multi-tasking.”

Travis Tritt also stated that from the beginning of his career, he always had a hard time switching from one mode to another. “In other words, when you go in to do an album, I have to go in and focus for a period of time on writing as much matter as I possibly can for that album. And when I get into that writing mode, I get laser-focused on that and I really don’t want any other distractions.”

The country singer also admitted that he can’t deal with other dictations away from just being focused on his songwriting. He feels the same way about his approach to the recording studio. “I get laser-focused on going the best performances that I possibly can in a live setting.”

He also reflected on his break from writing new music. He said he made the conscious decision to really just focus on the touring part of his career. “I’m one of those artists that’s fortunate enough to have enough hits over the years that I can do a two-hour show or longer no problem. And the show is jam-packed with hits from beginning to end.”
