Country musician Travis Tritt says the song is inspired by “the idea of escaping to a secluded spot in the woods” during the COVID pandemic. He is “making the best out of a bad situation”.

The artist, having been in the industry for over thirty years now, says it “feels good to release new music”. Tritt’s latest is a slightly-intense twist on his usual, entitled “Ghost Town Nation”. The almost-funky, old-school country tune comes as the first single from Tritt in over a decade.

‘Nation dives deep into the realities of 2020 for the country star. He’s been no stranger to controversy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Tritt has garnered a self-described reputation on Twitter as a “man who speaks his mind without worrying about backlash”.

Despite this, his song “serves as a rallying cry” for people to unite during tough times:

“Well, I tell ya one thing that we all got in common; we ain’t gotta worry when the sky starts fallin’, No need to panic when the lord comes callin’, cause it’s all just a part of the show. We’ll load on up, take it out to the woods, where the fish are still biting, and the eating’s still good.”

Not only is Tritt back with a single – but an entire new album, too. Producing the album – reportedly also entitled “Ghost Town Nation” – is one of the biggest names in the country music industry. Dave Cobb, the man behind hits for both Chris Stapleton and Brandi Carlile, is helping craft Tritt’s “fiery” resurgence .
