If you plan to watch the Vice Presidential Debate Wednesday night, Travis Tritt has some advice that he says will help improve your viewing experience. The country music legend posted his idea to Twitter only a few hours before the 9 p.m. EST debate started.
“The best drinking game for tonight’s #VicePresidentialDebate might be to get drunk and pass out before it starts,” he wrote.
Vice President Mike Pence and Sen. Kamala Harris will debate in Utah Wednesday night. But following the chaotic first debate between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden, expectations for many were low.
Most of Tritt’s replies loved his joke. Several people responded, posting pictures of the alcohol they’ve already started drinking ahead of the debate.
Some offered suggestions of what to watch instead of the debate.
Some even got in on the fun. One man posted images of two Bingo cards that viewers can mark off as candidates hit those topics. On Harris’ board is items like “racism,” “assault weapons,” and the phrase “here’s the thing.” On Pence’s card there are squares for items like “Grace of God,” “ISIS,” and the phrase “answered the call.”
Travis Tritt is a Trump supporter who has on multiple occasions offered his support to the president online. Most recently, he tweeted his concern for Trump after the President and First Lady Melania Trump contracted coronavirus.

Pence and Harris will take the stage at 9 p.m. ET tonight at Utah University in Salt Lake City, Utah. The event will be 90 minutes long without commercial interruptions. Washington Bureau Chief of USA Today Susan Page will moderate.
The debate has taken on more significance since President Donald Trump’s COVID-19 diagnosis and hospitalization. Trump has since been released from the hospital and says he still plans on debating Joe Biden on Oct. 15 in Miami.
After the president’s diagnosis, the debate commission said they would put a plexiglass barrier between the vice presidential candidates. They would also be seated 12 feet apart and be tested before the event. Pence has since said he doesn’t want a barrier between them.
