Travis Tritt fans were ecstatic when he recently released “Ghost Town Nation,” the lead single off his first studio album in 13 years. Now, he’s given fans a lyric video for his ode to making the best of a bad situation, and they have a lot to say about it.
Tritt said he fell in love with the song because it fits his feelings about this moment in time so well. Written by Aaron Raitiere and JB Strauss, “Ghost Town Nation” is about escaping into the woods and relying on yourself. Seeking simplicity in a time rife with chaos.
“I loved the overall groove of the song when I first heard the demo, but what really hooked me was the lyrics,” Tritt said in a press release. “At a time when so much of the country was on pandemic lockdown, I think the idea of escaping to a secluded spot in the woods was very appealing for a lot of folks. It reminded me of a ‘country folks can survive’ theme. I personally know a lot of folks that still do this regularly.”
Tritt is working on his next album that’s set to be released sometime next year. It’s his first album with Big Noise Music Group. He signed a record deal with the LA-based label earlier this year.
