Trisha Yearwood Gushes About Relationship with Garth Brooks, ‘There’s A Lot of Mutual Respect’

by Quentin Blount

Country music star Trisha Yearwood recently opened up about what makes her relationship work with fellow country star, Garth Brooks.

When you’re as high-profile of a couple like these two, you may think that ego would get in the way of the relationship sometimes. However, Yearwood says that what makes her and Brooks work so well together is their mutual respect for one another.

“Our marriage is a great love but also a great friendship,” Yearwood recently told Parade Magazine. “We laugh a lot and there is a lot of mutual respect.”

The country stars have been happily married since 2005. In addition, they have made the most of opportunities to work and travel together over the years. They have teamed up for CMA Awards performances and even were able to make a Christmas duet album titled, Christmas Together.

But through all of the ups and downs in life, Brooks and Yearwood always seem to put their relationship first. Brooks has always been focused on his music, but that hasn’t stopped him from consistently being supportive of his wife’s passions.

Combined with her own successful music career, Yearwood has built other business ventures in furniture, home accessories, and cooking. Most fans will remember the Grammy winner’s Food Network show, Trisha’s Southern Kitchen.

Trisha Yearwood says that her husband has “always been respectful” and that “he is kind of perfect.” Though despite those glowing remarks, she says she does have one pet peeve.

“My only pet peeve is that he whistles — all the time,” the country star jokes. “Right now, it’s the theme song from The Dating Game. If I need him to change (literally) his tune, I’ll sing a line of something else and then he’ll be on that. At least I can change the station without him knowing!”

Trisha Yearwood is COVID-19 Free

If there is anything that could have tested the love between Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks, then perhaps it would have been the coronavirus pandemic. But by all accounts, it seems like their relationship only continues to grow stronger.

The country music power couple had to call off all of their immediate plans back in February when Yearwood tested positive for COVID-19. They quickly made the announcement on social media that they would be quarantining for the foreseeable future.

And although something as serious as COVID-19 could have tested the limits of their marriage, Yearwood came out in March announcing that she was COVID-free and that her husband was “literally Superman.”

“I got the official news that I am covid negative,” Yearwood wrote on Facebook. “Thank you all for your love, support messages, and sweet tweets! My incredible husband is literally Superman and never got covid – but still took all the precautions to keep everyone we know and love safe!”
